Healthy Dog
We know your dog is much more than just a "pet". Your dog is a treasured member of your family. Let us help you to ensure many happy and healthy years for your canine companion.
A healthy dog needs the following:
- Annual Physical Examinations
- A parasite detection and protection protocol
- A customized vaccination schedule
- A comprehensive oral hygiene regimen including professional dental cleanings
- Proper nutrition
- Training and socialization
- Exercise and mental stimulation
- Regular grooming
- Unconditional love
- A yearly comprehensive physical examination is the most valuable service we provide for your dog. Our veterinary team can work with you to customize a health care plan that is as individual as your pet. Part of our comprehensive examination includes a thorough account of your dog's lifestyle, risk factors, and symptoms- we call this a patient history. Use our Canine History form to help us to help your dog at his or her next appointment.
- Our 4-DX tests provide you same day results on the heartworm status of your pet, as well as lymes disease, erhlichiosis, and anaplasmosis- three life threatening, tick-borne illnesses.
- We use Zinc-Sulfate Centrifugation- the industry "gold standard" for intestinal parasite detection. Our fecal testing methods are more likely to detect the presence of intestinal parasites than the passive floatation methods commonly used in other clinics.
- A customized vaccination schedule will protect your dog against life threatening diseases: Rabies, Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza, Leptospirosis, and Bordetella.
- Annual dental cleanings are essential to the health of your dog. A professional dental cleaning beneath the gum line can treat and even reverses existing dental disease. Brushes, pastes, chews, rinses, and diets- there are limitless ways to promote good oral hygiene in your dog. And nobody can argue that doggie-kisses are much nicer coming from a clean, fresh mouth.
- Unconditional Love- there is nothing more important to your dog's health period.
- Proper nutrition is more than just feeding "dog food". Today's premium diets not only provide essential nutrients and energy; they can aid in the prevention of orthopedic, oral, and cognitive disorders. How much, how often, and what treats you offer all play as important a role in your dog's nutrition as the brand of food you are feeding.
- Forget all of the many health benefits associated with a regular exercise regimen...exercising with your pet is fun! Throw a ball, go hiking, or just walk around the block; it all promotes a healthy and active lifestyle for you and your dog.
- A well trained, well socialized dog can be trusted even when you aren't by his or her side. And since an old dog CAN be taught new tricks, it is never too late to teach your dog good manners.
- Regular grooming-trimming nails, cleaning ears, and brushing- go a long way in keeping your dog looking and feeling great. The time you spend grooming your dog will enhance the bond you share as well as give you an opportunity for the early detection of potentially serious health ailments.
